Design & layout of The Khaleeji Voice, a photography publication.
THE Brief
To design a photographic publication about about the Urban Art scene in the Arabian Gulf.
Our Solution
We wanted the publication we designed to reflect the journey of writer Quentin Pim and photographer Melchior de Tinguy as they uncovered the urban art scene of the region. Melchior’s photography is an intimate window into the lives of his subjects and it was important to reflect that in the size and orientation of the six books - each book documenting one of the Gulf states. We specifically chose a muted, sunwashed colour palette, each colour specifically selected by the photographer to compliment the overall tonality captured in each country. As a further extension of this we specifically chose to encase the books in raw, exposed materials to mimic the rugged landscapes of the region.
